A new 235,900 SF Community Center for the City of Brandon is being planned which will combine several sporting associations. This is a three-phase design that includes areas for basketball, tennis, football, soccer, and retail spaces. The first phase will include a new indoor single-rink hockey facility for the local hockey association and state-wide tournaments. Overall cost is estimated to be $29 million.
Phase 1 will begin with a 46,500 square foot indoor single-rink hockey facility for the Brandon Valley Hockey Association. The initial facility will include seating for 656 spectators, locker rooms, concessions area, kitchen, and Zamboni storage. The facility will allow for future flexibility of up to 1,500 seats, which would accommodate the hosting of a State Championship hockey game.
