BRIAN HEIDBRINK

Senior Project Manager

605.274.2890

Ever since Brian was a little boy, he has enjoyed building and fixing things with his hands. His passion for architecture began in an 8th grade shop class doing hand drafting. It was during that drafting course he observed that ideas on paper could be built, which sparked his desire to be an architect.
Brian is inspired to come to work every day knowing that he is helping clients solve their problems and making their goals and dreams become a reality. Brian comes to SGA with 34-years of architectural experience after obtaining his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State in 1987.
Brian was born in Sioux Falls but moved to Brandon at the age of 12 where he has lived ever since. He and his wife Laura have three sons. While they were growing up, Brian wanted to be involved in their activities and not just as a spectator. He spent five years coaching youth softball/baseball, six years as president of the youth wrestling club, and six years on the high school booster club including three years as president.
The boys followed their dad’s architectural footsteps; one is at SDSMT for civil/structural engineering, another will be graduating in the architecture program in December from Montana State University and the third working as a structural engineer intern in Mountain Iron, MN.
Now that their boys are gone from home, he spends his time fishing and hunting. His biggest passion is backpack hunting in the mountains for elk and mule deer. “There is nothing more exhilarating than spending time in God’s country above treeline,” he said.
