MERRILL VETERANS MEMORIAL
Sergeant E5 Ronald D. Schultz stands near his engraved name on one of the several monuments at this Veterans Memorial Park in Merrill, IA. Schultz, one of many Veterans honored at this memorial, was enlisted in the Army and stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado from 1964 to 1966. He is the father of Tami Mullenix, an Architect in SGA’s Sioux City office.
The memorial park, located 20 minutes northeast of Sioux City, displays a beautifully engraved bench with military photos and several granite pillars engraved with Veterans’ names. Also on site is a patriotic mural which was created by painter Karol Holton. The mural includes an image of the Raising of Old Glory at Iwo Jima, a girl saluting an unnamed tombstone, wreaths on tombstones and Lady Liberty.
