SUMMARY OF SERVICE:

Colonel Jim Linn has served as a Battery and Battalion Commander, earning several awards including the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, BG William C Bilo Leadership Award for Excellence, Combat Action Badge and many more. Linn has served his country on deployment to Iraq 2003-2005 and Kuwait 2009-2010 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, to Djibouti Africa 2020-2021 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and to Ft Campbell, KY (2003-2003) in support of Operation Noble Eagle. He currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff of Logistics (G4) at South Dakota’s Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) and is planning to retire in 2023 with 35 years of service. Jim is married to JoAnn with three children Shelby, Ashley and Sawyer. They are a military family who are extremely proud of Jim’s service and sacrifices for our country.
